AFA ENGINE

Objective: After successful completion of this course, the Technician will be able to:
  • Better understand the nature and causes of iron failures
  • Use available literature to assist in the detection of failures
  • Distinguish between the result and the cause of a particular failure
  • Confidently make critical decisions concerning failures
  • Organize and prepare a formal failure analysis report

Who should attend: This course is intended for Technicians or any person who will be inspecting failed iron and must make a decision on the "root cause" and part responsible for a failure.

Description: During this course the topics covered will be engine related and will include:

Common Core
  • Proper failure analysis management
  • Study of metallurgy
  • Principles of wear
  • Principles of fractures
  • Visual examination

Engine Specific Most common failed components will be covered.

Course Duration: 5 Days.
