Guaranteed truck engine repair and maintenance costs
When you enroll your new, used, or overhauled Cat truck engine in the Engine Protection Plan (EPP), you are covered against failure and wear out on the entire engine. Your repair costs will never exceed the guaranteed rate based on the coverage you choose. You are protected against inflation, parts price increases and regional labour differences. All scheduled valve adjustments (depending on coverage level), inspections, planned component replacements and unscheduled repairs are covered (certain components subject to coverage conditions).

CHOOSE THE COVERAGE YOU WANT
Select the BASE COVERAGE and ADDITIONAL OPTIONS best suited for you. Your monthly rate is based on the miles/kilometers driven, hours of engine use, or gallons/ litres of fuel consumed (whichever is determined best for your application). Choose the number of years and amount of use required. You can customize either plan with additional coverage options to give you the level of cost control and service convenience you want….and at the right price!

WE'LL SCHEDULE SERVICE AND MAINTAIN ENGINE SERVICE RECORDS
For regularly scheduled maintenance work, repair, or emergency assistance; your customer service representative will make all the arrangements for you. All you do is call your local Toromont Cat branch once you are enrolled. We'll send you a computerized service history of your engine every three months. Scheduled Oil Sampling (SOS) at every oil change will enable us to provide you with a report of the internal performance of your Cat engine so we can schedule needed repairs at your convenience and avoid unexpected breakdowns.

EXCLUSIVE 24 HOUR A DAY EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
Should you require emergency assistance, our exclusive EPP program benefit includes calls for roadside assistance or towing resulting from failures of covered components. Help is just a phone call away, 24/7, throughout Ontario, Manitoba and Newfoundland. Your service representative will arrange a tow, if needed, and service at the nearest Toromont Cat Authorized service location.

TRANSFERABLE COVERAGE
Your guaranteed rate is transferable at no charge to the next owner at time of resale. "Proof of maintenance" records could improve the residual value of your truck at resale time.

Qualifying Engines
All heavy/medium duty Cat Truck Engines traveling within Ontario, Manitoba and Newfoundland qualify for enrollment in the EPP program. Overhauled 3406E, C-10, C-12, C-15, and C-16 Cat Truck Engines enrolled in the Overhaul Protection for Trucks (OPT) Program with less than 1 month (and 10,000 miles) of service since overhaul.

ADDITIONAL COVERAGE OPTIONS
We know each business operation is different. That’s why we offer you a variety of time and distance combinations when you enroll. That’s also why we offer you the following options to customize your coverage:

• Valve Adjustment
• Engine Brake: (required if so equipped) covers the cost of adjustment, tube up and replacement of failed engine brake components, including castings, seals and labour. Call for the appropriate price quotation for vehicles with more than one engine brake
• Starter and Alternator: covers the replacement or repair (at Toromont Cat’s option) of the starter or alternator
• Coolant Hoses: Toromont pays for replacement of all coolant hoses
• Air to Air Aftercooler: replacement of the Air to Air Aftercooler core, hoses or clamps if any of these items should fail
• Engine Belts: covers the cost of scheduled and unscheduled replacement of engine belts
• Coolant Flush and Fills

EPP PROGRAM COVERAGE FOR CAT TRUCK ENGINES

BASE COVERAGE FOR CAT TRUCK ENGINES

Pays 100% of the parts and labour charges for any and all failures or wear out on all Cat engine parts. Plus 24 hour a day emergency breakdown assistance.
All Caterpillar parts, including:

• The block / crankshaft / crankshaft bearings / main bearing bolts / connecting rod assemblies / camshaft / camshaft followers and bearings / head casting / head-joint gaskets
• Valve mechanisms including, adjusting screws and nuts / brackets / bridges and dowels / pushrods / rocker arms / intake and exhaust valves / springs / guides and inserts
• Cylinder packs including liners /pistons / wrist pins / retainers / spray tubes
• Oil pump / oil cooler core, housing and gaskets / oil pan and gasket
• Timing gear cover / front cover / front gear train / flywheel housing / gaskets
• Intake and exhaust manifolds and gaskets
• All parts and labour charges required to inspect, repair, rebuild, or replace all worn out parts
• Fuel transfer pump / hand priming pump / electronic engine components, including Electronic Control Module (ECM) / wiring harness / all engine sensors providing information to the ECM
• All other engine-related gaskets and seals
• All low power or other engine performance related problems if caused by a worn, failed, or failing covered component, or needed adjustments
• All overtime or holiday labour to complete repairs in a timely manner (subject to availability)
• Towing for covered component failures, preventive maintenance scheduling, quarterly record-keeping services and engine oil sampling (SOS) at every oil change
• Repair work to be performed at any one of our Toromont Cat authorized service centers in Ontario, Manitoba or Newfoundland
• Waterpump / thermostat and housing
• Air compressor
• Electronic fuel injectors
• Turbocharger

THREE LEVELS OF PM1 SERVICES
for New, Used or Overhauled Cat Truck Engines

1. PM1 Kits. Includes the price of Caterpillar PM1 filter kits and up to two fuel filters. Pick up your kits at your closest Toromont Cat Branch for do-it-yourself oil changes.

2. Lube, Oil and Filter Service. Covers the cost of oil changes, including engine oil, Cat oil filter, Cat fuel filter, coolant element, chassis lube and inspection.

3. Full PM1 Service. Covers all costs of oil changes, including engine oil, Cat oil filter, Cat fuel filter, coolant element, chassis lube, chassis inspection and air filters when needed. Also includes clutch and brake adjustments at time of PM1 service.

Auxiliary Fuel and Oil Filters includes the cost of these filters at each scheduled interval (required if so equipped when one of the above the options is chosen).

Determining your customized plan and rate can be performed within 1 hour of your inquiry.

AFTER YOU'RE ENROLLED...

Report your mileage/km, hours, or gallons/litres of fuel consumed (whichever you have chosen) at the end of each month by phone, fax, mail, or e-mail to your registering location.
Take oil sample at each oil change (provided by EPP).
Notify your assigned customer service representative of all oil changes.
Call your assigned customer service representative for regular maintenance scheduling or emergency service.
